An ode to hard work

Merle Travis wrote Sixteen Tons in 1946, and Tennessee Ernie Ford made it a worldwide hit in 1955. Our version is Geoff Castellucci's, sung in his deep bass voice. It tells of a coal miner's working day: the shovel, the seam and the weight carried on every shift.

From that song we kept what matters most: the hands, the craft and the pride of a job well done. That's why our label is a pick and a shovel.

For those who work the mountain

In this corner of the world, at the foot of the Andes in San Juan, mining is part of life for many families: long shifts, high altitude and weeks away from home.

Sixteen Tons was born for the moment the shift ends and you raise a glass with your crew, family and friends. A serious, no-nonsense gin, made with the same care as any job done right.

Two profiles, one seam

The same base of juniper, aromatic herbs, spices and citrus peel. One is classic and versatile; the other rests on oak, gaining body and warmth.

London Dry Gin

Dry and straightforward. Juniper leads, citrus lifts it and spices give it body. For tonic, for a martini or simply over ice.

750 ml, 40% ABV

Oak Gin

The same base, rested with oak chips. Rounder and warmer, with wood on the finish. Sip it slowly over ice, or let it surprise you with tonic.

750 ml, 40% ABV

Digitally numbered bottles

The label carries an NFC chip. Hold your phone close to it and you'll see the style, batch and number of your bottle, with its certificate of authenticity.

You can register it in your name if you like, and view the bottle in augmented reality right from there.
